Will serve as Audi's entry level crossover.

Audi has dropped a teaser of the Audi Q2 crossover, which doesn't reveal much about its exterior design. It's expected to be unveiled digitally in the coming days, before the world debut on March 1 at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The Audi Q2 is expected to be unveiled digitally in the coming days, before its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 1.

What can be surmised from the teaser as well as spyshots is that the exterior follows Audi’s characteristic angular design, featuring swept back LED headlamps, large grille, and a sporty front bumper. Given that it will be smaller than the Q3 but will have to allow space for an even smaller model, expect its length to fall between 4.0 metres and 4.39 metres.

The Audi Q2 will be based on the MQB modular platform that supports products like the VW Golf and Audi A3. The base model could be powered by a 1.4-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with cylinder deactivation technology, whereas higher models could get 2.0 TFSI and TDI engines. Transmission choices should include 6-speed manual, 6-speed S tronic and 7-speed S tronic, while a quattro AWD system should be optional in higher variants.
