Next-gen Renault Grand Scenic to follow later this year.

Excited about the Renault Scenic's 20th anniversary this year, Renault has announced that the fourth generation 2016 Renault Scenic will be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 1. The Swiss motor show will likely stage world premiere of the next-gen 2016 Renault Megane Estate as well as the 2016 Renault Clio (facelift) though these are yet to be confirmed.

The fourth-gen Renault Scenic will be based on the C/d version of the CMF platform.

Like the original, the fourth generation Renault Scenic will share its underpinnings with the Renault Megane. It will be based on the C/d version of the Renault-Nissan Alliance’ CMF platform, as is the case with the Renault Megane and the Renault Kadjar crossover.

The compact MPV's design will be in line with the company's new language that was introduced on the fifth generation Espace and later seen on the Kadjar, Talisman as well as the Megane. The interior, especially the dashboard and centre console layout, will be very identical to these models. The new 3-spoke steering wheel, colour head-up display and R-Link 2 infotainment system with an 8.7-inch vertical touchscreen display flanked by vertical HVAC vents will likely be a few familiar interior elements.

The all-new 5-seat mini-MPV will be available with a variety of TCe petrol and dCi diesel engine choices, with displacements likely ranging from 1.2- to 1.6-litre. Transmission choices are expected to include 6-speed manual, 6-Speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) and 7-Speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC).
