TVS Apache RTR 200's LED pilot lights teased - IAB Report

TVS will announce a new product along with the new Apache on Jan 20. 

TVS's Indonesian website has released a few teaser images of the TVS Apache RTR 200, which will have its reveal and Indian market launch on January 20, 2016. The teaser below highlights the LED pilot lights of the Pulsar RS200-rival.

A 200 cc single-cylinder engine and a 5-speed gearbox will be seen on the latest Apache.

The Apache RTR 200 is reported to be powered by a 200 cc engine based off the RTR 180. The single-cylinder, oil-and-air-cooled unit, engineered for superior NVH levels, is expected to output 26 PS and 22 Nm of torque, via a 5-speed gearbox.

Retardation will be provided by a 270 mm petal disc in the front and a 250 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS being offered as an option. For the Indian market, the Apache RTR 200 will ride on TVS SriChakra tyres though spyshots have shown the motorcycle on test in Indonesia on meatier Pirellis. The tyre specification of the Indian model is reported at 90/90 in the front and 130/70 at the back.

Riding on a Double Cradle Synchro Stiff chassis, the Apache RTR 200 is reported to have a kerb weight of 140 kg. It will offer features like LED pilot lights, LED taillight, an all-digital instrument cluster and split-seats.

Industry sources estimate the TVS Apache RTR 200 to have a starting price of about INR 1 lakh, ex-Showroom, when launched.
