Honda Brio RS name registered, launch expected soon - Report

According to a report on Autonetmagz, PT Honda Prospect Motor, the Indonesian subsidiary of Honda, has registered the Honda Brio RS name in the country, confirming its launch. Further, the document reveals that the Brio RS will continue with a 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine paired to a CVT.

The Brio RS gets similar styling tweaks as the Honda Mobilio RS. The front fascia sports new headlight clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, a new black grille with a chrome highlight, an all-new front bumper with a honeycomb airdam structure, side skirts and larger, diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The Honda Brio RS could also get a chrome exhaust muffler, a sportier rear bumper, RS badges on the glass hatch-lid and a rear spoiler. Inside, expect the small car with an all-black interior and a touchscreen entertainment system.

The Brio RS could be considered for the Indian market as a variant extension.

As mentioned earlier, there will be no changes to the performance figures. The Brio RS will continue to be powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine capable of 88 PS and 109 Nm of torque. While Honda offers entry-level variants with a 5-speed manual transmission, the Brio RS will exclusively be sold with a CVT, the report states.

Post its launch in Indonesia, Honda Cars India could offer the Brio RS as a variant extension in the country. The carmaker already offers the Honda Mobilio RS, which is priced between INR 11.23-11.92 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
