Could be considered for the Indian market.

Carnewschina has posted new spyshots of the China-spec 2016 Mercedes E Class long wheelbase model, which could be launched in the country in the coming months. Mercedes is also considering breaking the China-exclusivity by launching it in India, according to a past report.

While the red color Mercedes E Class LWB is based on the regular variant with an AMG body kit, the black color E Class LWB features a three-slat chrome grille, new bumper designs and multi-spoke alloy rims. It's unclear if Mercedes will widen the Maybach luxury brand with the E Class LWB.

The E Class LWB is reported to be 80 to 120 mm longer than the regular model, which measures 4,880 mm (already 43 mm longer than outgoing E Class). It is likely to be exclusive to the most powerful option in the engine lineup, which is the E 400 that packs a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine with 333 hp and 480 Nm of torque. The only transmission option is a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed gearbox.
