Would be priced higher than the Bullet 500.

RushLane reports that Royal Enfield is working on a Bullet Electra 500 which would be launched in the second half of 2016. Other than the cosmetics that is typical of the Electra model, it would be the same as the existing Bullet 500.

The Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 500 would use the engine of the Bullet 500 in the same state of tune.

The basic differences between the RE Bullet 500 and the Bullet Electra 500 would be new colour options, chrome fenders, a new taillamp, a new air filter box and a different set of tyres. The Electra version can be expected to cost more than the Bullet 500.

The hardware on the Bullet 500 including the single downtube frame with engine as a stress member, the telescopic fork with 130 mm of travel, and the rear suspension with 80 mm travel and gas charged shocks, is expected to be carried over to the Electra version, except the rear shocks which is expected to be adjustable.

The new model will be powered by the same 499 cc single-cylinder air-cooled twin-spark engine that does duty on the Bullet. It produces 26.1 bhp of maximum power at 5,100 rpm and 40.9 Nm of peak torque at 3,800 rpm, and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The existing Bullet Electra is powered by a 346 cc single-cylinder air-cooled twin-spark motor that generates 19.8 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
