US launch will take place in April 2016.

Porsche has revealed the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S. Both models get more power and features along with a sharper design with the facelift. Both models will debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show that will take place in January.

The top-end models will come in both coupe and convertible body styles. Power will come from the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that develops 20 hp more than before. In the 911 Turbo, the engine now produces 540 hp and 523 lb.-ft. (709 Nm) of torque while in the Turbo S, these figures jump to 580 hp and 553 lb.-ft. (750 Nm) respectively. This increase in power has been made possible by modified intake ports in the cylinder heads, new fuel injectors and higher fuel pressure; the 911 Turbo S also gets larger impellers for the turbo.

The bump in power results in the 911 Turbo finishing the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) run in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 198 mph (319 km/h). The 911 Turbo S improves upon the 0-60 mph acceleration time by 0.1 seconds, taking a total of 2.8 seconds with the top speed increasing by 7 mph (11.2 km/h) to 205 mph (330 km/h).

A new dynamic boost function has also been incorporated that improves the throttle response in Sport mode. This function maintains boost pressure even when pressure is briefly relaxed on the accelerator pedal. The desired effect is achieved by interrupting fuel injection with the throttle valve remaining partially open.

Sport Chrono package is now offered as standard. This comprises a sport steering wheel from the 918 hypercar that has a rotary ring which can be used to select the preferred driving mode from four available driving modes - Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. Another feature is the Sport Response button, which is a black button located in the center of the mode switch. When pressed, it tweaks the engine and transmission for the best possible response.

The 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S feature the new 7.0-inch PCM touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Connect Plus module as standard. The navigation system offers detailed maps with the help of Google StreetView and Google Earth. There is also support for handwritten inputs, while smartphone integration has been made easier with the ability to connect through WiFi, cable or Bluetooth. Standard sound system onboard is the 555 watt Bose unit with 12 speakers; an 821 watt Burmester audio system with 12 speakers is optional.

The exterior gets a redesigned front end with side air blades and revised DRLs. The side profile flaunts new 20-inch double-spoke wheels and door handles without recess covers. The posterior has witnessed the most changes with tweaked new tail lights and revised dual tailpipes. Distinction between the Turbo S and Turbo can be made by the stainless steel exhaust tips, which are in black chrome in the former and in high gloss chrome in the latter.
