2016 Mercedes A Class (facelift) launched in India at INR 24.95 Lakhs - IAB Report [Updated]

Gets new headlamps and subtle design tweaks.

Mercedes India has launched the facelifted 2016 Mercedes A Class in Mumbai today. The new A Class is priced from INR 24.95 Lakhs for the Mercedes A 180 Sport (ex-showroom Mumbai), and INR 25.95 Lakhs for the Mercedes A 200d (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Changes in the new A Class are minimal in nature. It comes with revised headlamps that can be spec'd with Multibeam LED lighting, sleeker LED DRLs, re-profiled front bumper, new alloy wheel designs, and new LED cluster design for the taillamp. It still retains the basic sports hatchback silhouette with a sloping roofline, low side skirts and a roof spoiler.

Inside, it gets an updated COMAND infotainment system with support for Mercedes Apps, new multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, panoramic roof as standard and new seats with ARTICO fabric.

The A Class facelift is available in two variants: A 180 Sport with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 120 hp and 200 Nm, and the A 200d with a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 136 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Both models have a 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic gearbox as standard.
