India-bound new Ford Endeavour - Motorshow Focus

Will be launched in India in early 2016.

The new Ford Endeavour (known as the Ford Everest overseas) has been showcased at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. The ladder-frame SUV will have its Indian launch in the coming weeks, and has already launched in Thailand and Australia.

The butch-looking SUV features rounded edges with front getting an upright fascia, chrome trapezoidal grille, projector headlights with LED DRLs and silver-finished skid plate. The flanks get flared wheel arches and fender vents with the rear receiving wraparound tail lights and chrome applique on the tailgate, which bears the name of the SUV. The dimensions of the Endeavour are 4,893 mm, 1,862 mm and 1,837 mm in length, width and height respectively along with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

The interior is finished with a dual-tone theme replete with a multi-function steering wheel and leather upholstery for the seats. Convenience-enhancing features such as electrically-folding third row seat backs and electric tail gate are also present. Infotainment needs are taken care of by Ford’s SYNC2 infotainment system that also has support for voice commands.

Two diesel engines are offered on the Everest. The first is a 2.2-liter four-cylinder unit producing 158 hp / 385 Nm of torque while the second unit is the bigger 3.2-liter five-cylinder TDCi engine with output of 197 hp / 470 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual gearbox.
