Rear of the Mahindra XUV100 (S101) snapped with almost no camouflage – Spied
Aravind Jayachandran, It goes without saying that I'm a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
Reported to launch in January 2016.
Courtesy of Team-BHP reader, phamilyman, the upcoming “micro SUV” from Mahindra has been spotted testing with minimal camouflage. Codenamed S101, it is expected to be christened the Mahindra XUV100, and will, reportedly, launch in January 2016.
The Mahindra XUV100 will be the second product to be based on a monocoque platform, first being the Mahindra XUV500. The front-wheel drive platform in the XUV100 is all new, and could spawn a range of vehicles based on it.
The spyshot reveals a partially covered rear-end, featuring production-spec taillamps, reflectors with chrome bezel and black plastic lower bumper. The Mahindra XUV100 will be following the design direction of an A segment crossover, with high ground clearance, black plastic extensions and roof rails.
Engine lineup will include three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine could be sourced from the bigger TUV300, which is a 1.5-liter unit capable of 84 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. Given the demand for petrol-powered cars in the A segment, the XUV100 will get an all-new 1.2-liter petrol engine. A 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission are expected to be offered in the XUV100.
