Mahindra TUV300 to launch by year-end - Nepal

The TUV300 has received over 12,000 bookings in India.

According to a report on the Himalayan Times, Agni Incorporated, the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, will launch the TUV300 by end of this year. The compact SUV will be priced between NPR 3.3 to 3.8 million (INR 20.6-23.7 lakhs), and will rival the Ford EcoSport chiefly.

The TUV300 was launched in India in September 2015 in a total of 7 variants, and is priced between INR 6.98 lakhs to INR 9.2 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. However, not all variants of the TUV300 will be available in Nepal.

Based on a ladder-frame chassis (the TUV300 rides on a shortened version of the new Scorpio's platform), the TUV300 is powered by a mHawk 80 three-cylinder 1.5-liter diesel engine capable of 84 bhp and 230 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Also on offer is a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) which produces 81 bhp.

All variants of the TUV300 can be had with ABS, EBD and dual airbags.

Even the base variants of the TUV300 can be specced with ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as an option. Buyers on the lookout for the top-end T8 variant can expect static bending headlights, alloy wheels, front and rear power windows, a 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in and Mahindra BlueSense, steering mounted controls, electrically-adjustable wing mirrors and reverse parking sensors.
