For Hyundai India, Middle East and Africa will be the initial few export markets for the new Hyundai Creta, following Nepal and Vietnam. It will be manufactured and exported from HMIL's plant in Chennai. Given the large demand in India itself, reports suggest that Hyundai has deferred export plans by a few months, that could limit allocation to export markets.

The Middle Eastern spec Hyundai Creta is likely to pack a 1.6-liter four-cylinder DOHC with Dual VTVT and 16 valves producing 123 PS at 6,400 rpm and 151 Nm of torque at 4,850 rpm. While a 6-speed manual is standard, higher variants will feature an automatic gearbox, as there is demand for automatic gearbox-equipped models in the Middle East.

Starting from December, HMIL will further increase the production of the Hyundai Creta from 7,500 units to 9,000 units per month, to sate the demand and lower waiting periods for the company's newest compact SUV.
