The Rp. 5 trillion (INR 2,422 Cr) investment made by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) is starting to bear fruit, as the Director of Production Engineering, Nandi Julianto, stated that the 2016 Toyota Innova is rolling out from the factory every 90 seconds.

According to reports, the factory will soon start production of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner as well.

The company expects to sell between 1000-1500 units of the new Innova per month, which was officially launched yesterday. Prices range between Rp. 282 million (INR 13.59 lakhs) to Rp. 423.8 million (INR 20.43 lakhs), and will be sold in three separate trim levels: G, V and Q.

The new Innova measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and 2,750 mm in wheelbase. One of the biggest changes is the all new downsized 2.4-liter GD diesel engine, which is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Customers seeking a petrol option get a 2.0-liter VVT-i petrol engine with the same transmission options as the diesel variant.
