To compete with Honda Grom 125.

The all-new Kawasaki Z125 has been premiered to the world at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show, today. It is a global model that could be launched later this year as the first direct competitor to the Honda Grom 125. There are two variants - Z125 and Z125 Pro.

The baby Kwaker is a 101 kg street fighter that measures 1,700 in length, 750 mm in width and 1,005 mm in height, and has a fuel tank capacity of 7.4 litres. It is powered by a horizontally-oriented 125 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 9.5 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 9.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The Z125 gets a 4-speed automatic transmission, while the Z125 Pro gets a 4-speed manual gearbox.

The Z125 features a narrow head lamp, a sizeable front fender, a high-mounted handlebar, a muscular fuel tank, expansive tank extensions, a sporty belly pan, a silver-coloured underbelly exhaust, an inverted telescopic fork upfront, an off-set monoshock suspension at the rear, a disc brake on either wheels, chunky tyres and a subtle tail piece.

Featuring an aggressive styling inline with the larger Z siblings,the Z125 gets an analog-digital instrument cluster that has an analog tachometer on the left and a digital speedometer on an LCD display. The TFT screen includes a fuel gauge, a gear indicator, an odometer, a trip meter and a clock. The Kawasaki Z125 will be offered in three colours - candy lime green, candy burnt orange and a silver shade.
