For the Alfa Romeo Giulia, the company decided to follow a top-down approach, and have only unveiled the range-topping, performance-oriented Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. In 2016, the Giulia range will expand to accommodate lower-spec models, one of which has been spotted testing.

Compared to the Giulia QV, the less-powerful variants will feature a simpler exterior design. It loses the side sill extensions, rear spoiler, quad exhaust tips, and large 5-spoke rims. The face features the distinctive trefoil nose with the inverted triangular grille, sleek projector headlights and LED DRLs, LED taillamps, and dual exhaust tips.

According to media reports, the Giulia will pack turbocharged four- and six-cylinder units. The base petrol engines are, reportedly, 2.0-liter units tuned to deliver three outputs: 180 PS, 250 PS and 330 PS. It will also offer a diesel lineup that includes a 2.2-liter four-cylinder in three tunes: 135 PS, 180 PS and 210 PS, and a 3.0-liter V6 diesel.
