New spyshots of the Royal Enfield Himalayan have surfaced on Shifting Gears. These photos are seemingly taken at the assembly line in one of the company's manufacturing facilities. The bike appears fully built, but this does not indicate that the mass production has begun. This unit seems to be the final validation prototype.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan would be launched by the end of this year.

To capitalise on the burgeoning motorcycle segment in the engine displacement range of 200-400 cc, and to rival the other soon-to-launch Indian product, the Mahindra Mojo, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to be priced below the INR 2 lakh mark at launch.

The ex-showroom price of the Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to be between INR 1.6-2.0 lakh.

Powering what could become the most affordable adventure tourer in India, is expected to be the brand new 410 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, capable of churning out around 29 bhp maximum power and 40 Nm peak torque, mated likely to a 6-speed gearbox.

Stopping power will come from disc brakes offered for both the wheels. Tyres appear to be the Ceat Gripp model of dual purpose tyres, shod on traditional spoke wheels.
