Renault Kwid variant-wise features detailed – Report
Riza Rizvi, Hopelessly in love with everything on four wheels. Interested in cars since my formative years, with an unhealthy affinity for exotics and tuners. Fondness for the open road with high-octane machinery for company!
The Kwid will come in four trims.
Renault’s Kwid will be launched in the coming weeks, and when it’s launched, it will be the most fuel-efficient petrol car in the country. The Kwid measures 3,679 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width, 2,423 mm in wheelbase and has a 180 mm ground clearance.
Power comes from a 799 cc, three cylinder petrol unit capable of 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It will be available in four trims – Standard, RXE, RXL and RXT – which are detailed below:-
Renault Kwid Standard:
This is the base variant of the Kwid and as most base variants go, the exterior gets black bumpers and steel wheels. On the inside, there is a single-tone dashboard, internal boot release, grey seat upholstery and a heater. An AC is not offered while the digital instrument cluster gets a gear shift indicator. The Standard variant however does come with a 2-year corrosion protection warranty.
Renault Kwid RXE:
Exterior changes are limited to the steel wheels that get a silver paint job. The cabin gets a satin silver-finish dashboard, AC with heater, visor on passenger side, engine immobilizer and a glovebox that can be shut. For those who want entertainment an optional media pack that has a stereo with 2 speakers, 12V socket and support for radio, MP3, Bluetooth, USB and AUX is offered.
Renault Kwid RXL:
Changes on the outside are body coloured bumpers and passenger-side ORVM. The interior gets quite a few changes with piano black steering wheel accent, satin silver AC surrounds, automatic cabin light and premium front seats with black and red upholstery. The RXL also gets electric power steering for easy maneuverability and the media pack as standard fitment.
Renault Kwid RXT:
The top-spec variant of the Kwid comes with all the exterior changes listed above with the addition of foglamps. The cabin receives the dual-tone dashboard and a center console finished in piano black with the AC vents getting a chrome finish. Equipment includes front power windows, MediaNAV pack for navigation and infotainment functions, keyless entry with central locking and an intermittent front wiper with wash feature. Safety has also been given a thought with an optional driver airbag.
The Kwid will also see over 60 accessories and a 2 year or 50,000 km warranty.
