Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe – 2015 Chengdu Motor Show
Riza Rizvi, Hopelessly in love with everything on four wheels. Interested in cars since my formative years, with an unhealthy affinity for exotics and tuners. Fondness for the open road with high-octane machinery for company!
Also comes in a high-performance ‘S’ model.
Mercedes-AMG has showcased the GLE 63 Coupe at the Chengdu Motor Show 2015 (CDMS 2015).
This is the pure AMG version of the GLE Coupe. The exterior is the same as the standard GLE Coupe with some aggressive bits like AMG cross-spoke alloys and the A-wing finished in gloss black. There is also the AMG lettering on the grille as well as the bootlid.
The interior gets well-bolstered seats with perforated Nappa leather and AMG lettering, 3-spoke flat-bottomed AMG steering wheel covered in Nappa leather and silver-finished aluminium shift paddles as well as instrument panel covered in Artico leather.
The Mercedes AMG GLE 63 is the performance flagship of the GLE range and is powered by a 5.5-litre biturbo petrol V8 engine. It produces 557 bhp and 700 Nm of torque; there is also the more powerful S version in which this unit produces 585 bhp and 760 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties are handled by a 7-speed 7G-Tronic gearbox that drives a permanent, rear-biased all-wheel drive system. The standard GLE 63 AMG takes 4.3 seconds to reach the 100 kmph mark, while the ‘S’ variant does it in 4.2 seconds. Top speed for both is limited to 250 kmph.
The performance of AMG cars are enhanced by AMG Ride Control sports suspension with active roll stabilization, active curve system, sports direct-steer system and dynamic select transmission modes.
