Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Maestro Edge scooter in India, at INR 49,500 for the entry-level LX version and INR 50,700 for the top-end VX trim (ex-showroom New Delhi). The model is a direct rival to the Honda Activa 3G. It'll be available from October 13.

The dimensions of the Maestro Edge are 1,840 mm in length, 695 mm in width, and 1,190 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1,265 mm and the ground clearance is 155 mm. The new variant of Maestro, with plastic body, weighs 109/110 kg (LX/VX).

The features of Hero Maestro Edge includes 12-inch alloy wheels, Integrated Braking System (Combi-Braking), immobiliser, digital-analog instrument cluster with service reminder, side stand sensor, external fuel filler, front inner box, night lamp for under-seat storage, USB power socket for charging smartphones or other gadgets, carry bag hooks on front and rear, LED taillamp, telescopic front fork, bike-like exhaust can and tubeless tyres.

The Maestro Edge is propelled by the first ever engine developed by Hero MotoCorp, presented on the Hero Dash scooter at the Delhi Auto Expo last year. The engine is a 110.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit that produces 8.31 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 8.30 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a CVT. The fuel efficiency is rated at 65.8 km/l.

The Hero Maestro Edge is available in 7 colours - Candy Blazing Red, Matt Blue, Techno Blue, Pearl Silver White, Matt Vernier Grey, Panther Black and Shooting Night Star.
