Hero Maestro Edge brochure leaked revealing specifications and features - Report

The brochure of the soon-to-be-launched Hero Maestro Edge has been leaked by MotorBeam. Consequently, the technical specifications and features of the new scooter have been revealed ahead of its launch on 29 September 2015.

Hero Maestro Edge is the production version of the Hero Dash unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo early last year.

The Maestro Edge is the production version (for India) of the Hero Dash unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. It has an edgier styling compared to the existing Hero Maestro and is manufactured at the company's Gurgaon facility. In export markets such as Colombia, the scooter is introduced with the Dash branding.

The Dash was showcased at the Auto Expo with a brand new 111 cc engine that is developed in-house by Hero MotoCorp. The engine was then said to produce 8.44 hp at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm at 5,750 rpm, but according to the brochure, the motor is retuned to churn out 8.43 PS maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 8.30 Nm peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

The 110 kg scooter measures 1,840 mm in length, 695 mm in width, 1,190 mm in height, 1265 mm in wheelbase and 155 mm in ground clearance.

Hero Maestro Edge shares its platform and powertrain with the Hero Duet that is set to be launched alongside.

The important features on the Suzuki Let's rival-to-be, include 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, Integrated Braking System (Combi-Braking), telescopic front fork, combination-type handlebar lock, digital-analog instrument cluster with service reminder, USB power socket for charging gadgets, carry bag hooks on front, under seat storage with night lamp, and external fuel filler.

The Maestro Edge will be available in 7 colours, including Panther Black, Shooting Night Star, Matt Vernier Grey, Candy Blazing Red, Matt Blue, Techno Blue and Pearl Silver White.

It is to be noted that the Hero Duet, which will be launched alongside the Maestro Edge, shares platform, powertrain, and most of the features & body colours with the latter.
