Changes could be similar to its Brazilian counterpart.

An IAB reader has caught the 2016 Renault Duster (facelift) testing on the GST Road in Chennai, which appears to be sporting less camouflage and different alloy rims.

The front-end of the pre-production test model reveals that the new Duster will ditch the current multi-slat chrome grille for a single slat design housing a large Renault lozenge. The headlamps feature a new cluster design that looks identical to its Brazilian counterpart.

The rear-end will get updated taillight clusters and new alloy rims designs. Inside, the build quality and upholstery are expected to be slightly tweaked, which was last updated in the 2015 Renault Duster. As for equipment, it could continue offering Renault’s 7 inch MediaNAV infotainment display, Bluetooth telephony and cruise control.

Under the hood, it could retain the 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine available in two power states: 85 PS and 110 PS. While a 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearboxes could also continue being offered, a report claimed that Renault may offer a 6-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission, given the increasing demand for diesel automatic SUVs. Like the current range, an AWD system with independent suspension will be exclusive to the range-topping trim.
