The Honda BR-V compact SUV concept that will be unveiled at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2015 (GIIAS 2015) tomorrow has been exposed again. Following this morning's leak that showed the car's front-end, images now show its dashboard.
Much to the relief of customers awaiting this product, the dashboard is not carried over from the Amaze. As reckoned earlier, it is a step up from the Brio series', with a unique design, featuring a central touch screen on a glossy black applique, followed by what looks like the control panel for an automatic HVAC unit. The smaller Hondas currently offer manual AC.
The steering wheel is carried over from the Mobilio, but the three-pod instrument cluster is new, and features chrome detailing. The air vents and glovebox are laid out in a similar fashion to the City', while a CVT stalk is visible on the prototype.
The rear of the BR-V exposed in another photograph shows stark similarities to the Chinese-spec Honda XR-V with a continuous taillight design, and a registration plate set on the tailgate.
The BR-V follows the 'XCITING H DESIGN!!!' philosophy with a bold design, featuring a chunky chrome grille accompanied by projector headlamps, chrome-tipped foglamps, a high ground clearance, side body cladding, chrome door handles and silver roof rails.
The BR-V is driven by the 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine employed on the Jazz and Mobilio, while another report claims that the higher specification 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine that puts out 139 PS at 6,500 rpm and 169 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm on the HR-V, would appeal to customers wanting more power from the BR-V when all seven seats are occupied. Honda has not confirmed a second engine option.
Honda Cars India hinted very strongly that the BR-V is their next new mass-market launch, where variants with the 1.5L i-DTEC engine would be top-sellers.
