All-new successor will upgrade to the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design.

The Hyundai Equus is the company's flagship pitted against heavyweights Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series, at a fraction of their price. The luxury limo is now set for a full model change, and has been spotted testing several times in Europe and South Korea with full camouflage. The most recent spyshots come from Korean portal bobaedream.

The 2017 Equus is reportedly developed on the Genesis' platform and will feature a V8 engine with AWD.

The 2017 Hyundai Equus is expected to be based on the same platform as the Hyundai Genesis sedan, sporting the Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. In the spy shots, we see that the front gets an upright four-slat grille, projector headlamps, wide radiator grille and horizontal LED DRLs on the bumper. The car gets new alloys, door-mounted side mirrors, shark-fin antenna and a thick C-pillar. The rear is seen with redesigned vertical tail light clusters and dual exhausts.

Little is known about the sedan at this time, but there have been reports claiming that it will be powered by a V8 engine developing 420 bhp and 518 Nm of torque. This mill will be working with an 8-speed transmission or Hyundai’s new 10-speed gearbox with an optional all-wheel drive system.

The interior of the 2017 Equus has been spied previously with premium wooden inserts on the dashboard, door panels and center console that are accentuated with chrome and golden appliques. The cabin looked comfortable with ample rear legroom, supportive leather seats and a rear AC vents. There is no word on the features yet, but some semi-autonomous driving systems are expected in it.
