Design previewed by Fiat Aegea concept in Turkey.

The interior of the production Fiat Aegea sedan has been revealed in a new set of spyshots of a test mule snapped outside a store in Strasbourg, by Auto Plus reader Mr. Laurentec.

The interior of the production-spec Fiat Aegea is inline with the Aegea concept, as seen in the steering wheel and dashboard designs.

Judging by the spyshot, the design is inline with that of the near-production Fiat Aegea concept, which was revealed on May 21 in Turkey. It features a flowing dashboard with a silver accent running across it, and buttons neatly arranged under the central HVAC vent. The 3-spoke steering wheel and a Uconnect infotainment system with a 5-inch color touchscreen display are also borrowed from the Fiat Aegea.

The final production-spec design has been kept heavily under wraps, although it will not stray too far from the design of the Fiat Aegea, as evidenced by the taillamps, C-pillar design and the side mirrors. Furthermore, a hatchback (Fiat Bravo successor) and estate will also be added to the Fiat Aegea range next year.

The final production-spec design is expected not stray too far from the exterior design of the Fiat Aegea.

A Fiat spokesperson has confirmed that it will drop the Aegea name when launched. It is currently being engineered for left-hand-drive markets; mainly 40 of them spread across Middle East, Africa and Europe. The company is still evaluating the need to develop a RHD model for markets like the U.K and Australia.
