Honda BR-V expected to be priced between INR 9.5-11.9 lakhs in Indonesia - Report

Expected to have its Indian premiere at the Auto Expo 2016.

Indonesian media reports have started speculating on the price of the forthcoming Honda BR-V crossover, which is announced to make its premiere at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2015 on August 20, 2015. Bookings for the BR-V for the Indonesian market will start at the motorshow, while deliveries are slated to begin in early-2016.

Media reports ballpark the price of the BR-V to start at around 200 million IDR and go up to 250 million IDR (INR 9.5-11.9 lakhs). For reference, the Mobilio is priced between 171.5 million IDR to 211.5 million IDR (INR 8.16 lakhs to INR 10.06 lakhs) while the HR-V costs between 246-358 million IDR (INR 11.7-17 lakhs).

The first sketches of the Honda BR-V prototype were revealed in Indonesia earlier this week. Speaking to local reporters, Marketing and After-sales service Director for PT Honda Prospect Motor, Mr. Jonfis Fandy, said that the BR-V was aimed at customers having an "active lifestyle and high mobility", and who needed a vehicle at an "affordable price".

The BR-V is confirmed to get two transmission options with the 1.5L petrol engine for the Indonesian market.

Honda have confirmed the BR-V with a 1.5-liter petrol engine for the Indonesian market. The BR-V is expected to premiere in India at the Auto Expo 2016, and for the Indian market, a 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine will also be made available.
