The Jazz is manufactured at the Rajasthan plant.
The Honda Jazz was first launched in India in June 2009, with a 1.2-liter petrol engine and in three variants. Its localization was at 76 percent, which meant that the hatchback had a starting price of INR 7.43 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Mumbai.
Fast forward 6 years, and the same company launched the new generation Jazz, not only with a diesel engine and a petrol CVT, but with a high localization of 95 percent. The result is that the Jazz's starting price is now INR 2.13 lakhs lower than the 2009 model, and even the fully-loaded Jazz 1.2 MT VX, which has more features than its predecessor, costs lower than a base-variant of the 2009 Jazz.
The new Jazz shares its platform and plenty of components with the new City, which is also heavily localized (above 90 percent). Both cars are made exclusively at the Tapukara, Rajasthan, plant and are also exported (exports of the Jazz to South Africa started in January this year).

Honda Cars India are yet to announce the number of bookings received for the Jazz, but according to reports, the petrol CVT has accounted for 40 percent, the diesel for 35 percent and the petrol MT for 25 percent. A total of 12 variants were introduced priced between INR 5.3-8.59 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
