Expected to launch by the end of this year.

The VW Vento facelift was caught on test in Maharashtra recently, with MotorOctane reporting that the sedan will be equipped with LED daytime running lights. Going by the family design, one can expect the updated Vento to receive Jetta-like LED daytime running lights, making it the only car in its segment to have this feature.

The Vento facelift would continue with the existing engines.

Previous spyshots have revealed that the sedan will get LED brake lights, though the overall shape of the taillight clusters will remain largely unchanged. Other changes VW is known to be making on its Polo-derived sedan include a flatter bonnet without the recess for the VW logo, a triple-slat chrome grille, Polo-like rectangular foglight enclosures, a body-colored strip on the bootlid, and a cutout for the exhaust on the rear bumper.

The interior of the Vento should remain unaltered as it was updated in September last year. Like the Polo facelift, the 2014 model year Vento gets a 3-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, a revised instrument cluster and silver inserts for the center console.

Another area where VW will not be making major changes would be the powertrain department. The 2014 Vento is equipped with the brand's new 1.5-liter diesel engine matched to manual and DSG transmissions, a 1.2-liter TSI paired to a 7-speed DSG and a 1.6-liter petrol coupled to a 5-speed MT.
