A report on Autocar India states that Mahindra is mulling introducing the Ssangyong Tivoli in the Indian market. The Indian major has not firmed up plans, but is looking at the compact SUV segment composed of the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano and the soon-to-launch Hyundai ix25 which are key competitors to the Tivoli.
The report further states that if launched, the Tivoli in India could be powered by Mahindra's all-new 1.5-liter diesel engine which will debut on the Mahindra U301. For the European market though, the Tivoli was launched with 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions and 2WD and 4WD.
At 4,195 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, 1,590 mm in height and 2,600 mm in wheelbase, the Tivoli is available with a wide range of personalization options including different shades for the roof, dashboard and different alloy wheels. On the safety front, active roll protection, front and rear disc brakes, 7 airbags, ABS, ESP and Hill start assist are some of the features available on the compact SUV.

Priced between 12,950 to 19,500 pounds (INR 12.73 lakhs to INR 19.17 lakhs), the Tivoli comes with a 5-year limitless warranty. Even if Mahindra decides on launching the product, the company would have to aggressively pursue CKD options with local content in order to keep its prices below the Mahindra XUV500, which starts from INR 11.21 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi for the W4 variant.
