To be priced at $26,990 (INR 12.80 lakhs).

Nissan Australia is all set to launch the new Nissan Pulsar SSS sedan (badged as the Sylphy and Sentra worldwide) as a part of series II range updates. The SSS sedan replaces the existing Pulsar Ti sedan as the top-of-line Pulsar variant and will reach showrooms by end of this month, with few changes in the pricing of trim levels, reports Caradvice.com.au.

The Nissan Pulsar is sold in both sedan and hatchback body styles in the Australian and New Zealand markets since June 2013. The Pulsar sedan is a rebadged Nissan Sylphy, while the hatchback is a rebadged Nissan Tiida. Both sedan and hatchback versions are offered in 3 trim levels – ST, ST-L, and SSS – with manual or an automatic CVT (Xtronic) to choose in every trim.

The flagship SSS sedan is to be priced at $26,990 (INR 12.80 lakhs), which is $3000 cheaper than the outgoing 6-speed manual Ti sedan and $700 cheaper than the Ti Xtronic automatic. The new car gets reverse sensor in addition to the carried over spec of the Ti sedan with an exception to the engine.

The 1.8-liter petrol engine of the Ti sedan has been replaced with the 1.6-liter DIG turbo-petrol producing 140 kW (187.74 hp) and 240 Nm of torque, already found in the Australian-spec SSS hatchback and Nissan Juke. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual or Xtronic CVT automatic transmission.

The ST-L hatch, on the other hand, gains rear parking sensors with a price cut up to $1600.
