A mild cosmetic makeover likely.

HeadlightMag have shared the spyshots of the Isuzu D-Max facelift. Known for its pickup trucks and SUVs, Isuzu is selling the D-Max pickup in Thailand since 2002 and the country is also the manufacturing hub for the pickup globally.

The new D-Max is expected to see a moderate change to the grille, headlamp and bumper.

Indian readers must note that the second-generation D-Max on sale in Thai market is different in design and specification in comparison to the Indian-spec model. The Indian-spec D-Max range is the first generation model that was launched in 2002, also sourced from the Thai plant.

The camouflaged test mules hardly hint on any radical changes in its design, with the front bumper and radiator grille getting a refreshment at the most. The headlights may be up swept a little more along the sides.

Isuzu offers a 2.5-liter Turbocharged Diesel and a 3.0-liter Intercooled Turbocharged Diesel engine for the D-Max range in Thailand. While the former unit is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 3.0-liter engine gets a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is available in a number of body styles - single-cab long bed, extended cab, and double cab, and the same mechanical kit is likely to continue.

Expect the same 2.5- and 3.0-liter diesel engines to serve on the facelift.

The Indian-spec D-Max range is comparatively basic with 2.5-liter diesel engine (BS4 compliant) making 134 hp and 294 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Isuzu is constructing a manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andra Pradesh, which will be operational by next year, where it plans to locally produce its products for the domestic and export markets. A cosmetic facelift for the Indian-spec D-Max can be expected once the company starts its local production.
