Chevrolet is slowly building up to the launch of the all-new, sixth generation 2016 Camaro which will be revealed on May 16 at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park. In a previous teaser, Chevrolet teased a beam and a suspension component of the forthcoming muscle car, and this time, its the wheels and brakes which make their premiere.

The new Camaro spent 9 million hours in computation dynamics before it started testing.

The new Camaro will be shod with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres with a wide range of rim designs and sizes on offer. Stopping the car will be the duty of these Brembo brakes, though their specifications are yet to be revealed.

Even before the first Camaro prototype turned its wheel, GM engineers spent over 9 million hours of computational time fine-tuning the chassis of the car. The result is that the new Camaro is 28 percent stiffer than the outgoing model which results in a "more nimble driving experience", says the Gen6 Camaro's program engineering manager, Jim Karlavage.
