Mechanicals will be left untouched.
These spyshots snapped by Autonetmagz reader, Mr. Peter Andreas, suggests that the ASEAN spec Toyota Yaris will be given a mild facelift in the months to come. The version caught testing here is the TRD Sportivo variant which gets a fully bodykit with side skirts, aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler and a sportier black grille.
The publication hints that Toyota could offer the changes on the mild model year update for the Yaris. However, there would be no changes to the mechanicals of the car. The current ASEAN spec Yaris sold in Indonesia world premiered at Auto Shanghai 2013.
In the Indonesian market, the Yaris is offered with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine capable of 109 PS at 6,000 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. A 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic can be had on the hatchback.
While TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor) may not have the Yaris on its wishlist, reports suggest that the sedan version Vios is under consideration for the Indian market. Prototypes of the Vios have already started testing in India, though other details remain undisclosed.
