The ix25 will be localized in India to the tune of 90 percent, a media report said.

Expected to emerge on the market in the September-November 2015 period, the ix25 is likely to feature the same 1.6-liter MT/AT as the Verna, while an AWD option is doubtful.

In all likelihood, the Hyundai ix25 will be strapped with the same 1.6-liter engines and transmissions from the Verna.

Codenamed 'Hyundai GS', the ix25 may also get a different branding in India. The company, according to an earlier report, has invested INR 1,000 crore for the project and is looking at a localisation of 90 percent at its manufacturing facility in Chennai.

Currently only available in China, the urban SUV is 4,270 mm long, 1,780 mm wide, and 1,630 mm tall, putting it in a class above the EcoSport.
