The VW Vento facelift was snapped testing in Maharashtra recently by Rushlane. Expected to launch in the second half of this year, the nearly half-a-decade old sedan will benefit from cosmetic revisions.

VW India exports nearly 50 percent of its cars to 32 countries, and the Vento was the most made car at the Indian plant last year.

The front fascia will benefit from a new dual-slat chrome grille (inline with the look of the Jetta facelift which is available for bookings in India), a new design for the hood with distinct creases, and a new bumper which on this test car is hidden with a cutout of the current Vento's bumper.

Changes to the rear will come in the form of a new body-colored strip on the bootlid and a new rear bumper with a cutout for the exhaust tip. These changes aside, the Vento facelift could also see new alloy wheels patterns and maybe a different shade for its dashboard.

The previous update in September 2014 saw the inclusion of the new dual-barrel headlight cluster.

Mechanically, VW India is expected to continue using the 1.6-liter petrol, the 1.2-liter TSI and the 1.5-liter diesel engine on the Vento facelift without any drastic changes. One report says that the gearing could be optimized for better drivability in city conditions.
