The Zest was launched recently.
It appears that Tata Motors has plans of widening its product range in Nepal. Johnny Oommen, Head of International Business at Tata Motors, revealed the brand's likely steps for the near future.
On being asked about the next product launches, Mr. Oommen mentioned that the Tata Bolt and the Nano Twist will be coming to the country by this year. He added that since the market is very small and government policies not too favorable for local assembly, setting up a plant for passenger cars is unlikely at the moment in Nepal.
Last week, Tata Motors launched the Zest compact sedan in Nepal at a starting price of NPR 24.5 lakhs (INR 15.34 lakhs) for the petrol version, and NPR 30.75 lakhs (INR 19.25 lakhs) for the diesel version. The sub-4 meter car is available with an optional automated manual transmission (AMT), and competes against the Maruti Dzire, the Hyundai Xcent, and the Honda Amaze.
The Bolt uses the same platform as the Zest, and is available in both petrol (1.2-litre 'Revotron' engine that makes 89 hp) and diesel (Fiat-sourced Multijet unit that makes 74 hp). On the other hand, the Tata Nano Twist is the power steering equipped variant of the Nano, and uses the same 624 cc, 37 hp engine. Earlier available only in the top-spec XT trim, the Nano is now available in a lower spec XE version in India.

Through Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, Tata Motors' distributor in the country, the Indian manufacturer also sells its commercial vehicles in Nepal.
