Aravind Jayachandran, It goes without saying that I'm a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
Price for the locally assembled C Class remains at INR 40.9 Lakhs.
The company did not reveal its sales target, and said the number of CKD kits assembled will be dependent on the market demand in India. Other CKD models at the plant are the GL-Class, S-Class, E-Class, and the M-Class.
The car’s powered by the same 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that is under the hood of the CBU model, which produces 181 hp and a peak torque of 300 Nm, paired to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels, and enables the car to hit 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed 235 km/h.
Visual changes in the locally assembled C Class are the new 5-twin spoke alloy rim design and a high-gloss brown burr walnut wood trim. Otherwise, it is still available in a single trim which crams all the optional equipment from the spec sheet: LED Headlamps and DRLs with adaptive beams, panoramic sunroof, a Drive mode selector with 5 different response modes, gear paddles on the multifunctional steering, 3-color ambient lighting, Keyless entry and start, and Attention Assist.
