The Xcent measures 3,995 mm long, and is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Hyundai currently sells the Accent F/L (also India-made, and sold previously as the Accent here) in the segment, and is reported to continue until 2017. The presence of the Xcent will help the car maker retain its customers when the ageing Accent is discontinued.

The Xcent is based on the Grand i10, and measures 3,995 mm long, 1,660 mm wide, and 1,520 mm tall. It sports a 2,425 mm long wheelbase, and boasts a 407-litre boot space. Hyundai Algerie will offer the Xcent with a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol unit that makes 83 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 4,000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Xcent's closest competitor would be the Suzuki Swift Dzire, another Indian-made product, which is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 85 hp, and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Coming back to the Xcent, the feature list for the car will include ABS, front airbags, a Bluetooth and USB-equipped 2-DIN CD/MP3 audio system with 1 GB of internal memory, parking sensors, alloy wheels, AC, etc.
