The next generation VW CC will be based on the (India-bound) VW Passat.

Yet to be named, the concept looks more aggressive, features the coupe's roofline which mainly distinguishes it from the Passat, and has an interesting use of LED both in the taillamps and headlamps. It also shows a wide grille up front, and twin exhausts at the rear.

On the sides, there's a prominent shoulder line, reminiscent of what Skoda has on the recently unveiled, Geneva-bound 2016 Skoda Superb.

Needless to say it will be built on VW's MQB platform. In case of the powertrain, a turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors will be responsible for powering the vehicle via an "innovative four wheel drive system", VW has confirmed to the publication.

The production version, expected in 2017, could additionally use an evolution of the powertrain found in the VW Passat GTE.
