After endless teasing, Nissan have finally taken the wraps of the next generation Titan pickup truck at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Nissan will first launch the diesel-powered Titan XD, followed by V8 and V6 petrol powered models.

The second generation Titan presents a much more refined and bolder design than the previous model (which looked like an Armada with a flatbed). Like any conventional truck, the body is of steel construction, and measures at 1998.98 mm tall, 2047.24 mm wide and 6169.6 mm in length.

It will be available in three different cab configurations such as the single cab, Crew cab (pictured) and King Cab, along with three different flatbed lengths. It can be spec'd in different variants, including a rugged Pro-4X and a range-topping Platinum Reverse model. The Titan XD also benefits with exterior equipment like LED taillights and DRLs, optional LED headlights, and storage boxes in the flatbed that can be removed.

Inside, the truck features an improved interior that is trimmed with premium materials and upholstered in leather. Creature comforts include a 7-inch display powered by NissanConnectSM with navigation and also as rearview monitor with trailer guides and integrated trailer-light monitoring, a 12-speaker sound system, 12-volt & 120-volt power outlets (in the flatbed).

Power is sourced from a Cummins 5.0-Liter V8 Turbo Diesel producing 310 bhp and a generous torque figure of 752 Nm, which helps the Titan XD tow more than 5 tonnes and carry more than 900 kilos.

The engine is paired to a 6-speed Aisin automatic that sends power to either a 2WD or an optional 4WD system available on all versions (standard on the Pro-4X variant).
