Expected to be unveiled at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The upcoming 2016 BMW 7 Series' exterior design may no longer be a mystery, thanks to the tell-all spy shots published earlier this month, and the recent rendering by Carscoops shows how the flagship sedan will look with an M Sport body kit.
Codenamed G11/G12, the 2016 7 Series's front end is more aggressive than any 7 Series, with a touch of chrome on the grille and the bumper keeping it classy as well. It wears large alloys, a black roof, and a very prominent bulge on the bonnet.
The new 7 Series is based on the new 35up platform, which allows it to be lighter (by up to 170 kg) than before. In terms of features, it's going to be well-equipped, with laser headlamps, touchscreen-based iDrive infotainment system, wireless charging, a Bower & Wilkins audio unit, etc.
The engine line up will consist of the usual six-cylinder and V8 engines, while smaller 2-litre four cylinder units could be installed on the base variant. On the other hand, reports say that the 6.6-litre V12 could be axed due to emission incompatibility.

An earlier report even suggests the possibility of a third wheelbase option. The 'XXL' variant could be pitted against the new Mercedes Maybach S Class versions, given that BMW might not bring a higher-end 9 Series.
