The vehicle could get a 6-speed automatic.

According to a report by Overdrive, Hyundai India will launch the 2015 Hyundai Verna on February 16, 2015. Spotted testing in India last year, the update was applied to the Chinese and Russian specification Verna last year.

The Verna facelift will come with new grille, bumpers, lights and infotainment system.

With increasing competition from new launches Honda City and Maruti Ciaz, the Verna had to give up its leadership position. To renew foregone interest, the new Verna will have a new bumper, foglamps, grille, LED taillamps, and as the report suggests, a touchscreen-based infotainment system, increased number of airbags, and updated mechanicals.

Talking about mechanicals, while the engine options are likely to remain unaltered, the major change could be in the steering system. According to the publication, to make the vehicle feel more connected (and driver-oriented), an updated steering system could make its way to the facelift. That apart, a 6-speed automatic gearbox is expected to replace the ageing 4-speed automatic unit, while the 5-speed manual will continue to do its duty.
