Honda showcased the S660 concept at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. Based on this report from Ameblo, the Japanese car maker will soon start production of the S660, and here are further details and images that back up that claim.

Honda S660 production version interior
Production version of the S660 bears design similarity to the concept, but parts like the steering wheel have been changed.

Seen here is the interior of the production S660 which borrows its steering from the new Honda Jazz, while retaining the overall dashboard design of the concept. The instrument cluster seems to be a digital screen with the speedometer enclosed within the tacho. The S660 here sports a 6-speed manual transmission, though a CVT could also be offered.

The production S660 will measure about 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,180 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,285 mm. Powering the car will be a 0.66-liter three-cylinder engine capable of 63 hp at 6,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 2,600 rpm. This is in accordance to Japanese kei car regulations. The S660 will deliver fuel efficiency of 24.2 km/l.

The small sports car will primarily rival the next generation Suzuki Cappuccino which is reported to be under development. Though it's unlikely for the S660 to be exported to markets outside Japan, reports suggest that Honda could consider exports to certain markets with a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine.
