Skoda's sketch of the upcoming Superb bears great resemblance to the VisionC Concept.

Along the numerous teaser pics of the upcoming 2016 Skoda Superb, the company has also released a sketch of the same. Now since the vehicle is yet to be unveiled, this is easily the closest look at the car.

The 2016 Skoda Superb is based on Volkswagen's MQB architecture.

Gone is the curved design of the current Superb, replaced by sharp character lines giving it an almost-chiseled look. The LED daytime running lights will be at the bottom of the headlamps (as on the Octavia and the Yeti), the grille is wide with a possible chrome element running across the perimeter of it, while the strong creases on the bonnet might be toned down a little on the production version.

On the sides, the shoulder line is prominent and the slightly curved C-pillar on the inside is, like a lot of other elements, straight out of the VisionC Concept. The vehicle is said to be longer than before which means it shall open up some more space on the inside.

The new Superb does without the split bootlid arrangement as seen on the current model.

The interior quality is reportedly better than before, while the features list has grown too, an earlier report says. A larger display with MirrorLink technology and wireless mobile phone charging are two features likely to be present in the new Superb. Rear legroom and boot space have increased as well.
