Will not launch in India.

Renault showcased the Duster Oroch concept at the Sao Paulo Motor Show last month. Made by Renault’s design centre for Latin America (RDAL) in Sao Paulo, the concept hinted towards a Duster based pickup that could launch in South America.

Small pickups account for 75 percent of the light commercial vehicle market with annual volumes of over 920,000 units in South America.

NoticiasAutomotivas have rendered the production version of the Duster Oroch taking suitable hints from the concept. According to the rendering, the Duster Oroch will be no more than a Duster with a pickup-like rear with a dual cab arrangement.

The concept on the other hand sported design cues from the D Cross concept such as sleeker headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, orange inserts in the body panels and even a panoramic roof.

Keeping in mind the end user though (the pickup is likely to be used on rough roads for transporting small goods), Renault would sober down the Duster Oroch to what is realistically seen in these renderings.

The Oroch would share its engines with the Duster, and plenty of parts as well.

There will be extensive parts sharing between the Duster and the Oroch to keep costs at check, and Noticias report that the Oroch will get the same engines as the Duster (1.6- and 2.0-liter flex-fuel units).

In India, the Duster Oroch's segment is called the Lifestyle pickup segment, which sees very few contenders owing to lack of demand. The Mahindra Scorpio Getaway and Isuzu D-Max Double Cab are two products in this segment. We don't see Renault India give competition to either of these cars.
