As reported by Indian Autos Blog earlier, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport AT will be launched today. The new variant will be available only in the RWD configuration.
The introduction of AT also marks the launch of the mildly refreshed Pajero Sport that is available in the international markets. The subtle visual differences come in the form of chrome grille, new front bumper complete with revised foglight surrounds.
The rest of the SUV continues untouched. On the inside, the refreshed SUV is equipped with a new multi-information display. According to Indian Autos Blog's sources, the color palette would see some deletions.
The lone model from the Japanese automaker in India continues to draw power from the 2.5-litre 16-valve engine which breathes via an intercooled turbocharger to produce 178 PS (175.49 bhp) at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 2,000-2,500 rpm. The new automatic transmission is a 5-speed torque-converter unit. The standard 5-speed manual gearbox is retained.
Like the manual variants, the new AT variant will also be assembled out of CKD kits at Hindustan Motors' Tiruvallur plant near Chennai.
