PT Moto KTM Indonesia had showcased the RC390 in the country and has commenced online bookings for the supersport bike for 390 hours starting last week, all the while not talking about the KTM RC200.
The Austrian bike maker has pleasantly surprised the Indonesian enthusiasts by opening bookings for the smaller model as well. Customers can book their KTMs online via the official website which will accept orders till November 24. The fully faired duo will be shipped from India starting early next year.
While the KTM RC390 doesn't have direct competition in the Indonesian market until the arrival of something like the Yamaha YZF-R3, the RC200 will lock horns with quarter litre candidates such as the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and Honda CBR250R.
The smaller sibling shares its design and equipment with the RC390 but gets the Duke 200's single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. Displacing 199.5 cc, the fuel-injected engine is capable of 25 PS (24.64 bhp) at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The motorcycle weighs 154 kg (fully fueled) giving it a power-to-weight ratio which is comparable with its bigger engined rivals.
