The front fascia seems to get the bulk of changes. LED headlights with slightly darkened clusters, a new grille with horizontal chrome highlights and a redesigned bumper with larger foglight enclosures are seen on the refreshed CX-5. LED taillights and new alloy wheel patterns are other changes listed in this image. There could be minor changes and updates to the interior as well.

The CX-5 will likely continue without any updates to its engine. In the U.S.A., the CX-5 is available with 2.0- and 2.5-liter gasoline engines which produce 155 hp and 184 hp respectively. The more powerful 2.5-liter gets AWD while the 2.0-liter is a front wheel drive model.

In Europe, Mazda offers a 165 bhp 2.0-liter petrol and a 150 bhp 2.2-liter diesel on the CX-5. The diesel comes with AWD and a 6-speed automatic transmission, whereas the petrol is front wheel driven and gets a manual gearbox.

Mazda's highlight at the LA Auto Show will not be the refreshed CX-5, but the all-new CX-3 entry-level crossover. A teaser image of the CX-3 was released recently.
