Based on the same MQB platform as the new B8 VW Passat (which had its public premiere at the Paris Motor Show this month), the new Superb is a "design revelation", according to the company's Chairman, Dr. Winfried Vahland. It will see design inspiration come from the Skoda VisionC concept which was presented at this year's Geneva Motor Show, and later on at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a different colour.

Speaking to Indian Autos Blog at a recent event, Skoda Auto India's director for sales, Pawel Szuflak, who has seen the new Superb, said that it will be a "big change for Skoda." The car is expected to have shed about 80 kg, and should be packed with latest features like the digital instrument cluster seen on the Passat.
