Available with two engine choices.
The VW Tiguan, one of the world’s best selling SUVs, is being showcased at the 2014 Nepal Auto Show (NADA 2014) by Pooja International, the authorized importer of VW cars in Nepal. The car has been on the market for a few years, but is very much worth featuring considering the craze for small crossovers in India.
The Tiguan is available with two engine options for Nepal – a petrol and a diesel. The petrol SUV uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSI engine which is capable of producing 180 PS (177.46 bhp) and 280 Nm of torque and comes with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG automatic.
The diesel meanwhile comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI making 140 PS (138.02 bhp) and 320 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines get a standard four wheel drive with VW’s 4MOTION technology.
The Tiguan measures 4,427 mm in length, 1,809 mm in width, 1,686 mm in height and 2,604 mm in wheelbase. The SUV has a ground clearance of 200 mm.
Features on the SUV include bi-xenon headlights, an electric sunroof, electrically adjustable, folding and heated wing mirrors, electric adjustment for driver’s seat, lumbar support, heated front seats, dual front airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags, dual-zone automatic climate control, 6-CD changer with multifunction steering wheel, cruise control and an electric parking brake.
The Tiguan is available in a total of six colors and variants for the Nepali market and is priced between NPR 73.45 lakhs to NPR 93.45 lakhs (INR 45.33 lakhs to INR 57.67 lakhs)
