Video - Mercedes GLA's Indian teaser released; To get 2L turbo petrol engine

The GLA will be powered by a petrol and a diesel engine.

In the run up to its market launch on September 30, Mercedes Benz India have published the first video teased for the GLA compact crossover. To keep social media channels buzzing about the car, a '#LiveRestless' tag is being used.

The GLA will be a lot more powerful than the A and B Class models which it shares platforms with. Powering the petrol variant of the GLA will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The diesel engine will be the 2.2-liter four-cylinder making 170 bhp and 402 Nm of torque.

Both engines will be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox with the drive directed at the front wheels. An AWD model is not planned in the immediate future.

The GLA will be offered only with front wheel drive for now.

The GLA is the fourth member of the MFA family to set foot in India.
